Heltermaa - Rohuküla line
The way to get to Hiiumaa is using the ferry line from Rohuküla to Heltermaa. The Rohuküla harbour is approximately 100 km from Tallinn and 10 km from Haapsalu. The Heltermaa harbour is 24 km from Kärdla.
The crossing from the mainland over the Väinameri and through Rukkirahu and Heltermaa channels is 22 km long and takes about 90 minutes. The waterway is relatively low; the deepest spot is 8 km.
Two big ferries are used regularly and if necessary smaller ferries are added.

Triigi-Sõru line
Connection between Saaremaa and Hiiumaa is running over Soela strait. Triigi harbour on Saaremaa is situated in Leisi parish about 46 km from Kuressaare. Sõru harbour in Hiiumaa is situated in Emmaste parish, about 45 km from Kärdla.
Connection between Saaremaa and Hiiumaa started in 1997 by ferry Vardo. From 2004 1´th of June the passengers are served by a bigger ferry Kõrgelaid. Distance between Saaremaa and Hiiumaa is approximately 15 km and it takes 65 minutes.

Kuivastu - Virtsu line
The way to Saaremaa from the mainland goes over Suur väin (Great Strait) from Virtsu to the Kuivastu Harbour on the Muhu Island. Saaremaa and Muhu are connected by the dam of Väike väin (Small Strait). The distance between Virtsu and Kuivastu is 7 km, the deepest spot is 19 m and the crossing takes 30 minutes. 78 km separates Kuviastu from Kuressaare.
Two big ferries are used regularly and if necessaary more ferries are added.
